Jonas Pomoell has been a business director, a consultant and an engineer, and brings all three to every engagement. He has written production code since 2008 and spent more than nine years at HiQ Finland, as business director of its mobile app business and most recently as Lead AI Consultant. For more than ten years he has also run his own mobile app business. He founded Des Train AI in 2024 and has run it full time since August 2025. He works end to end, in English or Finnish: scoping where AI actually helps, building it, and keeping it running.

- Before that, programme manager for a delivery of more than 70 consultants.

Builds it himself
- Full stack since 2008: databases, servers, APIs, web and mobile clients, testing and specifications, and now MCP servers.

- By choice, directs AI agents daily instead of typing code by hand, this site included (up to 66 consecutive days in Claude Code).

Jonas Pomoell developed an AI-powered scheduling tool for harness racing events, incorporating machine learning techniques. The project made use of the extensive racing database of Suomen Hippos, which includes all competition performances of Finnish harness racing horses dating back to 1985. Jonas enriched the data by adding horse location details and creating an individualized influence zone for each racetrack. He showed great dedication to understanding the unique characteristics of the sport and was able to grasp the overall dynamics and interdependencies of the field. The final result was a comprehensive solution that enhances the well-being of both horses and people.
